Starstruck [Loke x Reader]

If there could only be one word to describe Fairy Tail’s number one bachelor… It would be flirtatious. No no, that’s not it…

Sexy? Close, but not quite there… What’s the word I’m looking for? It’s right on the tip of my tongue too..

Ah yes. Alluring. That would be the perfect word to describe Loke. Something about him seems to draw me closer to him. I bet that’s how all the other girls feel.

Ugh. Those girls. Just thinking about them makes me shudder in disgust. How can they share one man? What ever happened to common decency? What in the hell happened to just one lover? Not like any of Loke’s girlfriends are serious. He’s always moving from one chick to another, dating a new one each week. Sometimes less, but that depends on his date.

I bet they have fun. Not that I would know. Oh sure, Loke’s asked me out on multiple occasions. But each time, I’d reject him. I’m not sure why, but something tells me to say no. He may whine and beg, but I’ll always stand my ground.

That, or I’d punch him in the face. Whichever gets the message across faster. Natsu gets a kick out of it whenever I do that. Anyways, every time he was rejected, Loke would flash a goofy grin and say the same line to me before walking away to get an ice pack for that black eye I gave him.

“You won’t be able to resist me for long [Name], just you wait.”

Something tells me he’s right. Eventually, I’ll get tired of saying no. But until then, he’ll have to learn to-

Oh wait, it’s that time of the day again. Where I’m seated at the bar, talking to somebody about something. Then he’ll come out of his usual spot and take a seat next to me.

And like an idiot, I turn and give him my attention. “I wouldn’t even bother Loke. You already know my answer.” I said calmly. He only laughed and pushed up his glasses.

“Can’t hurt to try, can it? Well then [Name], I have an offer you won’t refuse. I’m sure of it today.” Loke said confidently.

“Oh? And what’s stopping me from saying no this time?” I asked innocently with a smirk. Part of me was actually quite curious. What was he up to?

“My newest offer will. Tonight’s supposed to be the best time for stargazing. I heard there’s gonna be a meteor shower too.”

That wiped the smug look off my face immediately. Every night, before I go to sleep, I’d sit on the roof of the Fairy Tail guild and look at the stars. If it’s cloudy, I’d wait until the clouds moved so I can see my shining friends up above. The only thing that bugged me was how he knew about my hobby. Not many people knew… I’ll have to find the rat that sold me out.

Instead of letting this get to me, I quickly hid my look of shock and put on a mask of boredom. “And what does that have to do with anything?”

“I’d like you to come with me to my secret spot. It’ll have a perfect view for the show,” He paused to run a hand through his orange hair. “So what do you say?”

I actually had to think about this one. If he’s telling the truth, I can see something extremely rare and magnificent. If he’s lying, he’ll have a pissed off [Name] to deal with. One that’ll kick his sorry ass.

“It was a good try Loke, but my answer is no.” I said coolly, waving it off and turning away. I could see Loke’s shoulders slump in disappointment from the corner of my eye. He shrugged it off and stood up, smiling sadly at me.

“Well, my offer still stands. If you want to go, tell me before seven o’clock tonight.” With that, he quietly walked away.

His whole attitude took the wind out of my sail. It was almost depressing to see him look so down…

“You should go [Name].”

I nearly jumped out of my seat, and then remembered that Gray had been there the whole time. Whoops.

“And why should I go?” I snapped at him. It wasn’t any of his business, so why is he getting involved?

He looked up for a moment to think, then turned back towards me. “Remember that favor you owe me? Well I’m cashing it in.”

“Hang on, you can’t do that-”

Gray clasped his hands together and began speaking in a girly voice. “‘Oh Gray, I’ll owe you big time for not telling anybody about my secret-’”

I jumped up and slapped my hand over his mouth. “Okay, okay! Just keep your damn mouth shut about that, okay?” He nodded in response and removed my hand from his mouth.

“But you have to tell him you agree right now.”

Mark my words Gray Fullbuster, I vow to kick your ass one day, I nearly said, but I kept quiet. Instead, I stood up, knocked his stool over, and proceeded to make my way towards a certain wizard. Behind me, I could hear Natsu roaring with laughter and the angry words coming from Gray. It’s a shame I’ll have to miss a fight between those two.

Loke noticed me approaching him and raised an eyebrow in confusion. “You’re not coming over here to hit me, are you?” He asked, wincing at the thought of his face earning another bruise.

“No, you moron, but right now I’d rather hit somebody else. I came here for a different reason.” I hesitated, causing Loke to become even more confused. I could feel my face heat up, thinking about what I was going to say. “I thought about your offer a little more and… I accept.”

He jumped up and pulled me in for a tight embrace. Loke lifted me off the ground and spun around. When he finally pulled himself together and released me, he grinned.

“Thank you so much [Name]! I swear, you won’t regret it!”

“I’m regretting it already…” I mumbled before turning away. “Meet me in front of the guild at seven, and not a minute later.”

-Fast forward to six o’clock-

We’re just going to see the meteor shower, right? Then why am I making such a fuss about what I’m gonna wear? It shouldn’t be too hard… Just pick out a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.

Toughest decision of my life. Thank God I asked Lucy to give me some fashion advice.

“Just go with something simple, but still look cute.” I muttered, glaring into my closet. “How is that even possible?”

Thirty minutes later, I finally decided on a pair of blue jeans, my favorite [favorite color] t-shirt, and sneakers. I started to head out, but stopped at a mirror. I ran my hand through my [h/l] [h/c] hair and smiled. Even though the butterflies in my stomach argued with me, I was ready to go.

-Timeskip-

I didn’t expect to see Loke already waiting for me. He had his hands stuffed in the pockets of his green jacket, looking casual. “So I was early! I thought I was late and you left!”

I had to smile at that. “Nah, but I was about to run late. So, where’s this spot of yours?”

“It takes a while to get there. Just follow me, alright?” He held out an arm for me to take, which, to his surprise, I did. We began our little journey, through a quiet forest. It almost felt like a hike, since we had to scale a large hill. The scenery was gorgeous; the nighttime flowers were nearly in full bloom, glowing under the moonlight. A few stray petals were carried off by a cool breeze; it made this seem like something you’d see in the movies or read about in a romance novel.

“I had a feeling you’d appreciate something like this. I heard about how you’d sit on the guild’s roof to watch the stars, so I thought you might like this spot.” Loke told me, gesturing to the meadow I was gazing at. “But this isn’t the right place. The top of that hill is our destination.”

Just then, I saw something shoot across the sky. My guess it was a meteor. It was amazing! “Well then, we’d better hurry. The show’s starting without us!”

We let go of each other and raced up the hill as fast as we could. Along the way, more meteors began dancing across the dark sky. It was as if a painter was flinging brightly colored paint on a black canvas. I reached the top first and leaned against the conveniently placed tree. Loke caught up quickly and stood next to me and looked at the sky.

“Just in time, eh [Name]?”

“It looks like it.”

Things became hushed. I could hear the wind blowing and the crickets singing their song. Fireflies were spread out in the meadow, glowing brightly in harmony. A quiet sigh escaped my lips as I stared at the meteors. Everything was perfect.

Except for the chilly breeze, that is. Loke seemed to notice how cold it got and removed his jacket.

“You look like you need this.” He said, draping the jacket over my shivering shoulders.

“Why is it so cold? It’s supposed to be summer for crying out loud…” I grumbled as I snuggled into the warmth. My shoulders felt extra warm for some reason… Glancing over, I saw Loke also had his arm around me. “Won’t you be cold now?”

He looked at me and smiled reassuringly. “Nah, I’m fine. Don’t worry about it, okay? Just enjoy the shower.”

And so I did. But just as fast as it began, it was coming to an end. I frowned at the sky for ruining this moment. We decided to head back to the guild and go our separate ways. I had returned the jacket to its rightful owner.

“I never thanked you for loaning me your jacket… So thanks.” I said, still frowning.

“No problem! But I can’t just say good bye with you looking like that.” He slowly raised his hands and pushed the corners of my mouth up into a smile. “See, now that’s better! You look prettier when you’re smiling you know.”

I began smiling on my own and pushed his hands away. “Yeah, whatever. See you tomorrow Loke.” I turned to head home.

Loke, on the other hand, had other plans. His hand shot out and seized my wrist. “Wait, there’s one more thing I need to do!”

“And what would that be?”

Rather than answer me, he pulled me closer and leaned in. I could feel myself blush and leaned back. I wasn’t fast enough; he kissed my cheek before I got too far away.

“That’s all! Take care [Name]!”

He took my hand and made me twirl. I felt like I was in a daze. I gently touched the spot he kissed and watched him walk away. I had a feeling we’ll be getting along much better after this.

But I’m still gonna kick Gray’s ass.
