Alone [Eren Jaeger x Reader]

It was all over.

Without her by his side, he felt empty. Never can he enjoy the simple things in life. Never can he look to his side and smile.

Without her, he felt so lost. Like the world was closing in on him. He couldn’t stand this. He needed you so badly. All he wanted was to hear your voice once more. He closed his eyes tightly, feeling the tears burning underneath his eyelids. He clenched his fists and bit his bottom lip so hard, he could taste the metallic liquid that dripped from the fresh wounds.

Finally, he fell to his knees and slammed his fists against the ground. He let out a choked sob and kept chanting her name as quietly as he could.

[Name]… His sweet [Name]. It was his fault she was gone. If only he had been more careful…

“Eren? Eren, are you alright?”

He went silent as he heard soft footsteps, becoming louder as she came closer and closer. Finally, he saw a pair of legs in front of him, and barely looked up as she crouched down in front of him.

“Eren, what’s wrong? Come on get up…”

She reached out and gently shook his shoulder, continuing to plead that he’d at least sit up. He finally listened and stared into her beautiful [e/c] eyes.

“[Name], I-” Eren started to apologize, but he was rudely interrupted.

“Eren, wake up! You’re having a nightmare!”

A nightmare? He tried to piece this together as his [Name] roughly shook him. Suddenly, his eyes flew open and darted around the room. He sat up abruptly to get a better look, but his forehead hit something hard. Eren heard a thud from the floor and peered over the bed.

[Name] was curled up on her side, clutching her own forehead and groaning in pain.

“Damn Eren, do you have an iron skull?” She whined as she looked up at her loved one.

He smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of his head. “Sorry about that [Name]. I didn’t see you there…”

She waved it off and slowly rose before sitting down next to him. “So, it looked like you were having some dream. What happened?”

His smile vanished and was replaced with a frown. [Name] noticed it right away and carefully slipped an arm around his waist and smiled softly.

“If it’s that bad, you don’t have to tell me. I understand.”

She could feel how tense he was, which told her that it really wasn’t something to talk about.

“Thanks. But [Name],” She looked up and stared into his  turquoise green eyes. Tears were threatening to slide down his face, yet he still remained dead serious, based on the tone of his voice. “Promise me that you’ll never leave me alone.”

Her eyes widened with surprise, but her expression quickly softened as she nodded in agreement. Eren finally relaxed and put an arm around her shoulders, resting his chin on her [h/c] hair. He was so content, he barely heard the next words coming out of [Name]’s mouth.

“Eren Jäger, I’ll never leave your side.”
