“You know something Bokuto?”
“I wish there were a million of you. Then the world can enjoy you too!”
[First Name] [Last Name] looked up at her boyfriend with a smile that could melt even the coldest of hearts. It was contagious, and Bokuto Koutarou couldn’t help but return it. He paused for a minute to think of a witty response, but his train of thoughts was interrupted.
“Be careful what you wish for, [Name]-san,” Akaashi Keiji happened to be nearby and overheard the conversation between the two. “Think about it. Would you really want that many copies of Bokuto-san?”
The silver haired teen feigned a wounded look. “Hey now! You act like that’s a bad thing!”
“You said it, not me.” Before Bokuto could protest, [Name] quickly waved him off.
“That’s just Akaashi’s opinion. I’m sure it wouldn’t be that bad.” Or would it? [Name] dismissed the thought just as Akaashi scoffed. “I heard that. Get back to practice you two.”
“Yes ma’am!” Bokuto chirped. He started to jog off with his setter, but retraced his steps and swiftly pecked his girlfriend on the forehead. Which earned a few whistles from fellow teammates and a blush to lightly dust [Name]’s cheeks.
At last, practice was finally over. To [Name], it seemed to have lasted much longer than usual. Gee, maybe it was because a certain ace insisted on staying later, just to work on spikes. Whatever, she was tired and was ready to head home and crack open a few books. She should’ve brought them along to get a head start on her homework.
Clipboard in hand, she mentally took note of the condition of the equipment and scribbled notes accordingly. That’s when it started.
“Hey [Name]! Can I borrow you for a second?” Bokuto’s voice echoed in the nearly empty gym, which amplified the sound. Ahh, she still had more to go through…
“I’ll be right there! Say you don’t have to be so….” The clipboard slipped through [Name]’s fingers and hit the ground with a thud.
Silence. Complete silence.
“You okay [Name]?”
“You look like you just saw a ghost!”
“[Name] [Name] [Name]!”
“Need me to get that [Name]?”
There had to be hundreds of them. The exact same pair of warm honey-colored eyes. Times…. who knows.
[Name] must’ve been more tired than she thought.
“Yeah?” Every single copy of him answered with a hopeful look.
“I… I’m going home. Homework can wait tomorrow.” [Name] started to make her way to the doors. God, she needed some fresh air. This was too much to take right now.
Unfortunately for her, every Bokuto in the room must’ve caught the petrified look on her face and rush towards her. At the same time.
“Wait [Name] you don’t look so good!”
“Let me get the door for you [Name]!”
“Hang on, you can’t just walk home by yourself!”
Within seconds she was completely surrounded and completely overwhelmed. What little color she had left on her face slowly drained. [Name] tried to say something but her voice was drowned out by the sound of her name being called out, over and over again, as if they were chanting…
[Name] yelped and abruptly sat up to try and catch her breath. Her eyes danced across the now familiar appearance of her bedroom and noticeably relaxed.
“Just a dream…”
Something warm stirred beside her and gradually arose. Ah, now she remembered. She fell asleep in her boyfriend’s arms. Her movements must’ve woken him up too.
“[Name]? You okay?” Bokuto mumbled. His eyes were still closed as if he were fighting to stay asleep. [Name] started to nod, but realizing he wasn’t looking she quickly made a noise that resembled ‘yes’. Satisfied with that answer
Quiet sighs were heard from both as they laid there in silence, enjoying each other’s company. Bokuto’s hand began to slow down as the need for sleep took its toll. But [Name] had one more thing to say before he completely dozed off.
“….I’m glad there’s just one of you.”
